Paros es una de las mas grandes islas cicladas (186 km²). Se situa en 37ο 5΄de longitud y 25ο 14΄de lentitud al oeste de Naxos y al este de Antiparos,  en el centro de las vias maritimas del mar Egeo, 90 millas marinas lejos de Pireus.

Paros se conecta con trafico regular a Pireus, Rafina en los meses de verano, Lavrio, el resto de las Cicladas, las islas del Egeo oriental, Thesaloniki y Creta con ferrys y naves de gran velocidad (Flying Cat, High Speed etc.). Hay coneccion aerea con Atenas. El viaje maritimo desde Pireus tiene una duracion de cuatro horas y media con el ferry, y dos horas y media a tres horas con los ferries de gran velocidad.
